Lizview: Harry Potter and The Cursed Child.**SPOILERS**

Hola! Hola! Hola!

Are you guys ready for my first Lizview ❤️? Okay!

So I am so excited to talk about HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD with you guys. Please raise your hand if you already read the book…if your hand is not up please leave right now!

So  HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD is written in play script form. I know about the play in London (someone take me please!!!)and I know the play is based on this book. So, was I looking forward to reading a Harry Potter Book in play script form.no. But, without a doubt, I was excited to read a brand spanking new Harry Potter book. The main reasons why I love novels is because I can pull myself inside the book, imagine all the characters, and the surroundings. Don’t get me wrong, plays are also a passion, but reading a script, I thought was going to prevent me from using my awesome imagination.

     Boy, was I wrong!

In HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD, we start off where we left off (does that make sense?) Harry Potter dropping off his children at the train station…Platform 9 1/4. Of course, Harry is with his wife Ginny, Brother-in-Law ,Ron ( Love him!) , and sister-in-law, Hermoine, ( yes this reunion makes my heart skip). We meet new characters, James Potter( Harry’s oldest son) Albus Severus Potter( named after two of my favorite characters) Lily Potter ( Harry’s youngest daughter…and obviously named after his mom),  Rose (Ron and Hermoine’s daughter), Delphi (Amos niece/ Voldemort Spawn), and Amos ( Cedric Diggory’s dad).

You guys know how Harry Potter’s son ,Albus Severus Potter, is so worried that he might arrive at Hogwarts and be sorted into Slytherin…well he gets sorted into Slytherin..WHAAAAAT!!!, your minds are blown?? yeah, mine was too. How could Harry’s son be sorted into Slytherin, I don’t know. I don’t know. James Potter and Lily Potter are sorted into Gryffindor. So you guessed it, this moment in the story starts the whole “Black Sheep”of the family storyline. So our “Black Sheep” of the family becomes best friends with none other than Scorpius Malfoy. Yes. Draco Malfoy’s son. I know it’s great. There are a lot of characters that are brought back from the past, Severus Snape. Albus Dumbledore, Moaning Myrtle, Dolores Umbridge, and many others.

So why is Cedric Diggory even mentioned in this book? The book is literally about trying to go back in time to save him, Albus hears Amos talk to Harry about how it was his fault that his son is dead. Harry admits that he wished he could change the past and save Cedric. This gives Albus the brilliant idea to try and change the past. We time travel to the past ( you guys know how much I love, Time Travel) to the Tri-Wizard Tournament, and the past gets changed, therefore, changing the future. We get to see what a world without our favorite wizard ,Harry Potter, would be like. We get to see Voldemort and his spawn.

    MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS:

My Favorite characters had to be Ron ( for the obvious comedy, I love to Laugh), Albus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy, and of course My ALL time favorites Snape and Dumbledore, and the Great Hermoine.

Ron is just hilarious, I have always loved him. His touch of humor just makes the books better.

Albus and Scorpius were such great characters and developed so much in the book. They were both “black sheep”

Albus Potter was the complete opposite of his dad and that made them bump heads and argue. That one argument that made my heart wrench (everyone’s heart wrench) was when Harry tells his son that he sometimes wishes he wasn’t his son, OUCH!. As Albus and his Father’s relationship grew farther and farther apart, Albus started to feel some resentment but deep down he still cared about his father. This relationship showed me a side of Harry that I didn’t know would ever exist,he was a frustrated father. At the end, Albus shows how much he admires his father, how much he loves him, and how like his father, he is also a really good friend.

Scorpius Malfoy  was believed to be Voldemort’s son, everyone talked about him and this made Draco very protective of his son. Scorpius was also the complete opposite of his father.  When Draco Malfoy was young he was mean and conceited. Scorpius  is a total lover. He loves his best friend, he is nice, shy, and kind. Draco believes his son is weak and unable to protect himself. As the story end, Scorpius grows and shows how smart, strong, and brave he is.

Of course, Dumbledore and Snape have always been my favorite ALL time characters, and I love that they were a part of this book again.

But, let me not forget to talk about the great Hermoine! she is AWESOME in this book, she is the Minister for Magic. Come on, we all knew she was going to be great. In every world that Albus and Scorpius travel to, Hermione is still strong and brave. She is the best and a great character for girls and women of all ages to look up to.

MY FAVORITE PART OF THE BOOKS:

I had a couple of favorite parts. One of those parts was when  Scorpius and Albus change the past, and due to the fact that Harry is dead Albus disappears, so it’s up to Scorpius to fix the mess. He finds Snape in this new world, still a professor, but secretly still fighting the good fight. Scorpius tells him he is from another world where Harry Potter is still alive and he named his son after him. Snape figures out that he died and the following is one of my favorite parts of the book:

Snape: I’m dead, presumably.

He looks at Scorpius, whose face drops. Snape Smiles thinly.

You were a little too surprised to see me. How?

Scorpius: Bravely.

Snape: Who?

Scorpius: Voldemort.

Snape: How very irritating.

There is a silence as SNAPE digest.

Still, there’s a glory in being taken down by the Dark Lord Himself, I suppose.

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD, by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany & Jack Thorne

Just Genius.

I also loved Harry Potter and Dumbledore’s conversation, Dumbledore was always so wise and Intelligent. He told Harry that he loved him. Dumbledors words are something that I believe Harry needed to hear.

This book was very nostalgic to read, there were moments where I had to stop reading and just sit there and take it all in. Yes, there were even times where I needed to hug my book ( lol, hey, I am a very emotional person). This book was amazing and  even though it was written in script form, I could still imagine Harry, Hermoine, and Ron like I did in the novels, I could picture the lights turning off to change scenes, the curtains closing, I could feel all of the actor’s emotions spew out of my book. I loved it so much. The only thing I hated, was that everything happened too fast. I read the book in two days, and every time I turned the page, I knew the ending was close…and I didn’t want it to end. Thank you, J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne for the gift of this book, for bringing this story back to life. I am hoping and wishing that this play will someday travel here to the states and a movie would also be awesome ( wishful thinking).

   THANKS FOR READING MY LIZVIEW❤️!

Hopefully, you enjoyed it, Please let me know if you guys have read the book, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Until our next Moment

XOXO Liz
